Forest Practices, Sustainable forest, thoughtful thinning

Whidbey Island Forestry Improvement

Coupeville WA. For the landowner, we are getting their property into compliance of the forestry practice designation. Which mean we are doing light thinning by hand, limbing of standing trees, removing small, dead trees and piling roses and black berries with a small excavator seen here. We will use controlled burning of piles and chipping to remove the bulk of the downed slash.

The overall goal here is to bring more light and space to the existing trees and to create space for new trees to be planted next Fall.
